Hills update?

Does anyone know the condition at the hills? I am going up today and was wondering if anyone has been yet this year. Any way i will post pics for update 2 nite.

Which "hills" are you referring to? Peter's Hills? Caribou Hills? Some other hills?

Might get better info if you were a little more specific.

theres a bit more than a inch, you can ride the trails safely but goin off is sketchy. i rode there yesterday and the snow was all very wet

Sorry for not being "specific". Any way trails at CARRIBOU Hills were tits!! I didnt get off trail much because there was almost no snow besides the trails. anyway nice test and tune. Turny here i come!

Snowmachiners got their Christmas wish, as the recent snowfall finally brought enough of the white stuff for the Kenai National Wildlife Re***e to open all areas traditionally open to riding.

"Recent snowfall atop already frozen lakes and ground has provided adequate protection to prevent surface damage throughout most of the re***e," said re***e manager Robin West in a press release.

This will be good news to riders in the Caribou Hills. Snow has been scant in the lower elevations of the hills, but the Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers began doing what they could to make the trails more user-friendly last weekend. They plowed the Gravel Pad Parking Lot and groomed some of the more heavily used trails, such as the Straight-In Trail and the Gravel Pit Trail, according to their Web site.
