Higher Octane

Thinking about putting a different head on my m1000, was wondering about octane rating and what is needed. Have had some people tell me to run av gas(airplane fuel), it rated at 100ll, didnt know of sure if its safe to run in a snowmobile or not. I know lots of people in my area run it in race cars during the summer. Also head you had to run a lead additive. Any ideas would be great.

I would ask the question in Arctic Cat section. I have run AV gas with no problems. I think the only difference is that it has lead in it for lubricating valves on air plane motors. I would get a 14 to 1 or 15 to 1 head for premium fuel at 6000 and above. RKT seems to be a popular head for cats. I have run one on a 800 MC and M7. If you want to run 100llav gas only RKT can build you domes for that much Octane and elevation you are going to run at.
