high idle 01 800

i just did the top end and can not get the sled to idle right its way to high i sprayed starter fluid everywere and it stayed the same tryed to adjust the cable and it stayed the same i premix and i am running 20:1 for breakin any ideas?

sounds like a vac leak or its too lean try pulling the choke if it idiles down its too lean

Had the exact same problem before turned out it was the fuel pump.

So from the comment above I'm pretty sure mine is just running very lean right now, but just thought I would ask. I pulled the sled all apart to clean everything up and redo the wiring harness, paint the pipes, put in an SLP cheater head.

So I put it all back together and fired it up today to bleed the air out of the coolant and after giving it some throttle it would idle really high. If I hit the choke the RPM would go back down, but after a bit it would climb back up. Even high enough to engage the clutch for a split second.

The sled has gutted airbox and SLP twins and is jetted for 3-6000 and I'm down at 2200 right now. It's also -24 C today.

The only other thing I was thinking is that the gas has been sitting in the tank for a year so I'm going to mix some avgas with it.

I have the exact same thing happening. When I pull the choke it will idle down.I just sinced the carbs, looked for leaks and will now adjust the lean/rich screw and see if that does it.

Ended up being the choke cables. I did turn the lean/rich screw back in a bit as well.
