High Comp Piston

I was thinking about putting a high comp piston 13.5 in my 13 kx450f, I just ordered a LT mountain horse kit. I was just curious if anyone else is running a high comp piston, and was hoping some feedback in regards to the type of piston, power gain, type of fuel they run and if its worth it . Thanx

Depends on your elevation. The higher the elevation the more you will notice higher compression benefits because of the thinner air. You can run pump gas above 5000 feet with 13.5:1 on that bike. Try to get non-ethonal for sure.

I am running 13.5 to 1 on my crf 488. Using a CP piston, was running pump 92 at sea level with no detonation when riding moto.Setup as a snow bike riding at 6000 ft plus no problems

high comp

I'm running one in my 2012 yz450. Just running ethanol free pump gas with no problems, it seems to make good power. I ride mostly 7-10000 feet. I started the season with 1/2 110 race gas per the dealer recommendation, but quickly ditched that as the bike did not like to start in the morning. My bike has matching cams and an fmf full system, it rips!
