High Altitude Gearing

This is a question for those riding in higher elevation areas. We ride 9-10k feet, I'm on a stock 11 Pro 155. I do mostly tree riding and am looking to change gearing. Stock is 20/42. I'm thinking of going 19/43. Is this enough, or should I go further?

Thanks

I don't know about the high altitude part but the Pro likes lower gearing as long as you don't want to do a buck twenty down the trail.

I run 19/45 with a longer chain in stock chaincase.

Ride a 163" at 6-9000 feet.

Belt runs further out in primary, less slippage lower belt heat. Best advantage is tree riding and deep snow u turns. The gearing allows the sled to recover rpm in deep snow.

Don't notice a difference in trail speed-- we don't ride trails that much and when we do we don't feel the need to go 100mph

I just changed my top gear from the stock 20 to a 19. Didn't really think about the lower gear. Anyone know what the stock lower gear is on the 2011's PRO?

I know this is talking about 2011 Pro's, but anyone know the stock gearing on the 2012? I thought they changed to 19/42???

Thanks for the replies. Just bought a SLP stage 3 kit. I still want to regear. What gearing are you higher elevation guys running with motor mods?

Thanks
