Hi beam/Hand warmer cluster issues

So I switched my bars to the RSI bars and find that I cant mount the factory brake lever with the massive toggle cluster that has high beam/reverse/hand and thumb warmers on it. I need to reposition it and was thinking of doing so on the plastic cowling above the gas cap. My issue I am running into is that I cant remove the two wire harnesses from the back of the cluster so I can mount it cleanly. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get them out. Or has anyone done something similar and have some pictures of what they have done? Appreciate the help. Pictures for reference of what I'm talking about.

The two tabs on the bar side of the wires are the release (one tab for each connector / wire bundle). Press the tab away from the bars (towards the wires) while pulling lightly on the wires and they should come right out. IIRC
