Hey ladies, best gear?????

I ride rough and need gear that will last through the trees. However, it is all made for guys.... I am always looking for girly gear but all I can find is underwear with a logo on the back like "Sled Sluts"... Though they may be cute not very effective on the mountain. What do you girls ride?

Thanks!!!

My wife really likes her Klim gear, I believe it's the allure line, warm and well made.

Gear

Hey BB, I wear Mens Klim Pants, and the Klim Boots. But my favorite is my Tobe Coat!!! Someday I will get the Tobe pants. The Tobe stuff fits great and withstands the elements!!!! HMK makes some great stuff as well, and their gear for 09 looks pretty sweet too!!! :D Happy Shopping!!!

If you can't find sled gear you like another option is to look at motorcycle gear. There are lots of womens styles of motor cycle clothing that is warm and waterproof.

I like my ToBe pants so far, but mostly I wear snowboarding gear cause that's what I have. Wear snowboarding boots and coat, mostly the same features and they're good quality. My gloves are also snowboarding gloves. Sledding gear is nice but not always affordable.

Well, it's definitely not all made for the guys anymore... several companies have been making womens gear for years now. You have Klim, HMK, ToBe & Slednecks that make durible, warm, dry, quality womens sledding gear for busting through the trees, slicing and dicing through the deep pow, chute slaying.... what ever floats your boat. Then you have the more trail banger specific brands like Acrtivia and Scott. I'm still wearing Dakine Womens' 686 snowboard gear that's been awesom for me the last two years and has been everything I want and desire for gear. So there are plenty of options out there for ya. I gotta say though that I really cant reccomend HMK's Lady Cruiser II boot - they leek horribly when the snow is wet and they have no liners to take out and I've found it's IMPOSSIBLE to dry that saturated of boot out over night. Sucks riding in sopping wet boots from the get go.

Just like all the other ladies have said, all true. I wear the Klim brand, I wear the freeride pants becasue they come tall (6ft) and I wear the parka jacket. If I didn't have them I would probably get the HMK brand. As for boots, I'm on my 8th year on my Trukk boots. Happy shopping.

ladies gear.

The Mrs is Klim from head to toe.

She didn't like the ladies stuff, so it's all mens stuff.

Stay away from the HMK stuff, terrible customer service, absolutely terrible!

If you like pink, I got my wife the FXR snowcross gear and she hates to be cold. So far so good and she looks good like always. But then again WingNuts wife makes the mens clothes even look good. I like the feel of the FXR snow cross too over my klim gear. It was more free moving and light weight like the North Face gortex shell and bib shell I use to wear. I saw some really cool ladies one piece suits at the ski and board shop this week that they say have the best look and warmth of all and only $400

My wife and her girlfriends all use Klim gear. The interesting part to me is that they wear the mens stuff. This holds true for other motorsports we participate in also, they like the mens gear because it tends to be built for the more aggressive rider. Go figure.

My daughter just tried out her new Scott jacket that I purchased through Dennis Kirk online and she loved it. Stayed warm yesterday in around 0 degree weather. It has a zip out fleece liner, protection on shoulders etc. Not a bad jacket - on sale for $165? Bargain for the quality at that price.

Ladies Gear

My girl has the black and lt. blue FXR gear and she loves it, works great. I just got all new FXR Vertical gear and used it last week in Cooke City, Mt and it works better than my old Klim stuff did. The Klim gear is good stuff but a bit expensive and the FXR gear cost less and works better in a few ways. It was COLD (-15 ish) and I was not hot of cold, Tetratex seems to be a great barrier and breaths better than gortex. I think when riders find out how good this stuff is, FXR mountain gear is going to blow up! It's good lookin stuff, Google it you'll see.

I took my girlfriend for her first ride on sat and it was 3* outside. She has all Klim gear and loved it.Said she never got cold or wet.She has a Klim ladies jacket and Klim mens pants and boots.

I bought my wife women's Arctic Cat Gore Tex gear for Xmas 5 years ago and she is still using it. She's warm and dry and looks good (just in case she reads this post:D) all the time. We both use snowboard boots with removable liners and swear by them. Feet are always warm and if you shop for them in the spring (sales) you can pick up a good pair for very cheap.

Top Base - Outer
UnderArmour ColdGear
Klim mid-layer
661 Core Saver
Summer Sucks Jersey
On cold days I wear my Scott jacket or ToBe jacket

Bottom Base - Outer
Klim base or Nike base
Klim freeride - Men's Small/Tall

Boots: RU Outside
Gloves: Klim

The best base layer for ladies is to have a nice "Sawyer" wrapped tightly against your body:D

The best coat I've had so far is FOX with a removable fleece. I'm never cold and I usually only wear one layer- a turtleneck shirt..I hate bulk on my arms I need to be able to move freely.

Boots - well I'm still looking. Last year I tried KLIM adrenline boots like my husbands and found 3 problems with them.
1) they were so stiff it felt like my front of my leg was bleeding. I could hardly enjoy my riding it was so painful
2) it was about 20 degrees and my feet were dry, but COLD.
3) were very slippery on my running boards

Tried the KLIM Radium boot on and I don't think they were made for humans..they really pinch the top of your foot they are a perfect L shape OUCH!

Went back to my wet but WARM Trukks which are lined with those 2.5 GAL Ziplock bags.

Socks are Chinook Winter Snowmobile and Ski Socks dri-release merino wool
$19.95 from RU OUTSIDE....tried their boots once...boy they were comfy, great support, but actually had to pull over and drained 1/2 cup of water out of my socks...they were actually weighing me down. So hard to find boots. Still looking.

Bibs - I had a pair of lady bibs with a drop seat....the zipper was so high my husband had to always help me; I started wearing his REIMA Bibs that had a full length zipper and they are actually easier. Go figure. They don't make REIMA anymore and not sure I like Scott's. Husband wears KLIM now and was actually cold last time out.

Gloves - make sure they have tacky grips on the fingers/palm. Nothing worse than loosing your grip and pack an extra pair on the sled for those wonderful fresh powder days...you'll need them.
