Hey Clutch Guy's........... HELP!

I have a stock 13 Rush 800, wanted more top speed. run a lot of lakes and groomed trails.

Went up 1 tooth on the top 22/36 to a 23/36. Lost about 300 rpms @ 7950.

Do I change the primary spring form a 120/310 to a 120 /340 with a higher finish rate........Or Change the clutch weights from the 66's to 64's.

Stock in the primary is 120/310 spring and the 10/66 weights.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mmm well im no Rush expert by any means... but I have never heard of anyone gearing up and actually going faster. In a lot of cases, theyre geared too high right outta the factory. I know a LOT of people with various machines that gained top end by gearing DOWN a tooth or two. Start back with ur original gears and make a few passes. Mark the clutch with a sharpie before hand so u know if u achieved full shift out. If ALL of the marker is gone, then u MAYBE can gear up successfully, but not always. At least thats my understanding, if all the marker is gone, then u ran out of gear (or almost).

I have marked it and it is at full shift out, hits 108 109 consistently, 8200 - 8250 run side by side with a doo, looking to walk away from him.
Lots of lake running and groomed trails.
If I can get the engine to run in its power band it will pull the gear.
Just looking for a direction Spring or weights.
Thank you

Your sled with stock gearing should can run 120mph on ice in perfect conditions.....have seen it done. Gearing it up, and not perfect conditions won't get it done.

Gearing

Changing the spring will have very little, if any impact on top end RPM. Try some 10-64 weights with the new gear or grind the sides of the 66 gram weights to 65 grams and try that. The taller gear will lower belt speeds at same RPM and may give you what you are looking for.

Thanks Boss,
Going to order the weights,
