Well, summer is winding down so I guess I'm ready to dive back in to the forums.

After next week. My boy drew the Youth Elk Bull tag and we are off hunting next week. Been spending a bunch of time out scouting.

If anyone knows where there is a bull elk that needs some lead poisoning I would love to hear about it. We have been up above Salt Lake here and all over the south slope looking at areas.

Anyway, good to be finishing up this miserable, hot summer.

Welcome back Dan.:face-icon-small-win
Been MIA myself on here.

BTW: I need to get the black plastic things back to you.

Right on I drew that tag a few years back. Fun hunt bulls were Screaming!! good luck hope he gets one! Show us some pics if he does!

Well, not a thing the first 2 days. Hot and dry, not a peep out of the elk anywhere we went looking for them.

So any suggestions on where there is a bull, doesn't have to be a monster, just "branched", that I can get my boy on would be great.

My archery buds have told me they are talking. From Colorado, Wyoming, northern Utah, and Idaho I'm getting the same story.... Bugling early, mid-day, and after dark. They are just talking not really pissed off yet. One buddy was able to pull a 340 bull away from the cows but only to a hundred yards. My Colorado buddy stuck an arrow in a rag horn at 50 yds but that bull snuck in didn't make a peep but stopped running after he was hit on a cow call.

Good luck!!
