here is what happened in edmonton yesterday

two seniors, guy and his wife walk out to their car from having supper. Guy is helping his wife get into the car and some dude walks up and starts knifing him. stabs him to death, no reason the cops say, random attack, and then the dude runs off. still looking for him

early morning, guy walking his dog finds a dead newborn baby lying in the ditch in a small patch of trees near a newer undeveloped subdivision. cops have no clue who the mom is.

mom and 2 year old daughter sitting inside the house (on a reserve). drive by shooting, bullet hits the girl in the belly. shes in hospital, gonna be ok, but the doctors say they will never be able to remove the bullet.
18 and 19 year old arrested.

I wonder if Alberta is falling prey to an influx of people from abroad of questionable character due to the booming economy? I will attest to the fact that after having driven all over North America, we've got the worst bunch of drivers right here too. Blowing stop signs and cell phones galore.... and I'm a biker..I fear for my life some days.

LMAO!! funny you say that, just got back from driving 1/2 way across Calgary, 20 mins in the car, here's what I saw: 2 people blatantly run red lights (not yellow/reds, they were red for about 1-2 seconds before they got to the intersection - plenty of time to stop), one pedestrian almost hit at a marked crosswalk with the lights flashing, and 3 people with hands on top of the steering wheel, texting on their DAMN cell phones! Absolute idiocy!

I stopped watching the local news about two weeks ago, I could not handle the sad negitivity of it. I watch the daily buzz (funny, comical sort of news program), in the morning before work and that is it. No other news!

Sounds like every other day in PG as well. Wife runs a 7-11 in the "hood" here. You should here the stuff that doesn't make the news. The police could make a full time carrer in the parking lot there if they camped for a few hours a day!
