Helpful 600R to 800 monoblock info

I stole and plagerized this parts list from Tom (AKIQPilot) over on HCS. It is a parts list of all the polaris #'s you need to take the 08+ 600R motor and run the 800 topend. A lot of guys are trying the bolt on and go approach but I would recommend having it assembled and portmatched by a machine shop.

Anyone else that has done this swap, please post info here

Plagerized from Tom:
Here is the list of parts you need to make your 600 into an 800. This list also includes all the parts needed for the oil injection. This is the single ring stuff. If you want the dual ring stuff you will need to order the 2010 Pistons, Cylinder and Head. These are available from your local dealer.

Part # Description Quantity Needed
3514357 Wrist Pin Bearing 2
5136071-329 Cover, Head 1
5135801 Valve, Guillotine 2
7517533 Screw 12
5413230 Seal, Gland Head 1
5411411 O-Ring 2
2203605 Kit, Piston [Incl. 1,2,11] 2
2520901 Asm., Pump, Oil 1
7080603 Clamp 12
8450061-600 Line, Fuel 3 feet
3021844 Head, Cylinder 1
7052048 Fitting, T 1
7518637 Screw 2

2520844 Asm., Oil Tank 1
5413288 Seal, Gland Cylinder 1
5413319 O-Ring 2
7518774 Screw 8
3021843 Cylinder 1
5813258 Gasket, Cylinder Base 1
7552604 Washer, External Tooth 2
7517610 Screw 2
7080307 Clamp, Hose 4
8450003-1525 Line, Fuel 3 feet
2530009 Filter 1
4010051-100 Conduit, Convoluted 2 feet

I believe if you want the dual ring stuff, just order the 2010 piston kits #2204154 Kit, Piston [Incl. 1,2,11] which includes piston, rings, wrist pin and c-clips.
The block is slightly different, thicker and maybe longer skirts...don't know if it will fit the 600 cases anymore (it might, but will require slightly different machining...don't know). The head is not required either. Using the old 800 head is fine, modified old 800 head is better, or an aftermarket 800 head from Power addiction, SLP, or BMP, is the best solution.

Tom is the man, he did my shocks on my '06 and is a WEALTH of information concerning anything IQR, we need to somehow convince him to get over here on Snowest. Really nice guy too.

Anyone else have some more info? Maybe some pics?

I'm thinking about doing this to my 07 440 chassis, but I'd like to see if anyone can answer these questions;
Will the 600r or 800 crankshaft fit into the 440 case?
Will the 440 stator work?
What carbs would work best for this?
I should be able to get my 440 CDI re flashed by the polaris race dept to 600 or 800 specs?

The best bet is to find a 600r motor. I do not believe that this set-up can be done to a 440 motor. Carl's Cycle had other options for the 440 motor, but I don't know if they are still available.

The biggest Carls would take a 440 up to was a 660. I think some other people flirted with 685's.

I am not sure if the new 600r crank can be swapped into the HO or VES cases. Kinda think NO.

If any of you guys are looking for an 800 monblock cylinder I've got one I could sell. $450 shipped

The 860 from Carls in the 600 ho is a stoker crank and the 700 makes a 740 and when used a 70mm stroke like the 800 that’s what makes the 860. The 600 iqr 08-2010 have the long stroke like the 800 rmk and has a small piston so that is why you can just through that mono block on and run with it. You would have to stroke a 440 to get the proper port height..
