Help with understanding the areas.

I saw a post today for Greenwater/Crystal sledding location.

Can I get some clarification on where this is?

I see the sno-park system has a Greenwater/Yakima region but nothing called Greenwater or Crystal on the map.

You then have the Blewett/I90 region that has Crystal Springs up by the snoqualmie pass, but no Greenwater.

Then there is Crystal mountain.

So where is this exactly?

Is there any naming standard/magic decoder ring to figuring out where people are actually talking about?

I use the official sno-park maps but find actual topographically maps even differ from those names.

Thanks for the help!

Greenwater is considered anywhere up off of FS Road 70 just past Greenwater (the town on 410 before you get to Crystal Mountain Ski Area) - The snowpark is called Pyramid Creek on the maps. The entire area is called Greenwater/Yakima on the Winter recreation site. FS Road 70 is on the left about a mile or so past the Fire Department in Greenwater. Stay on that road untill you can't go any further and that's the Pyramid Creek Snowpark.

Huh? You lost me. You mean you saw another snow park further up 410 (past FS70) on the RIGHT (southern side) of 410? I have NO idea - I don't think your supposed to be riding over there. Maybe someone else knows?

Back in the old days there was a snow park at the crystal turn off and you could legally ride into the white river camp ground up 410 aways. Don't know if that is an option anymore. If you are new to greenwater take your chains and you will save your truck/trailor/sled. Do not stop on the hill:eek:
