Hey guys,
So I put a set of Powderhounds on my 09' XP 146x. I usually use simmons but thought I would give them a shot. They worked outstanding on the trails, probably because of the 4 in shaper carbide I put on. Off trail was an really hardpack, icy in some spots but softer in others. So I took off to boondock, and the sled started darting left and right. And when I say darting, I mean it freaking turned so hard it threw me off. It would ride straight for a ways and then just SHOOT to the side. I am no weak ***, but it really started to overpower any steering inputs I would put in. Speed was from 30-40 mph. I haven't ridden in those conditions a lot before, but never remember anything even close to that.
So, is it just the conditions? Would adjusting the limiter strap help, where do you guys run it? I have no doubt these skis are good off trail, as I bought them because people on this forum spoke highly of them, but I ride in "Sierra Cement" so conditions range from deep powder to 50 Degrees and sloppy, and I ride a lot off trail. Did I make a wrong call here?????
