help with oil pump

I rode 60 miles today mostly trails and went through almost all the oil in the resivoir . does anyone know whats going on with it?

first of all check to make sure the oil pump is returning to it's idle position, had a freind who's stuck at half way point.just look down past the throttle bodies or carbs and make sure the lever is going up and down.if it's good, check you adjustment,is this sled new to you? if not you can pretty much rule adjustment out from one ride to the next shouldn't be that much diff.

no the sled isnt new to me i am the only owner of the sled. 03 800 1m efi there are notches on the lever that line up when all the way open and closed . how much slack should be in the cable? there is quite a bit thanks

Shouldn't be any slack. You want the pump arm to start moving as soon as you move the throttle. But mainly you want the line to line up with the notches at idle and at full throttle.

Do what I did, rip it out and pre-mix. No more oil pump problems. (Not that I had any to begin with)
