Help with mods for my summit 1000

OK I am thinking about just keeping my RT 1000 since it is almost paid off and its still practically new. It has the 162x16 track so it does good for me. The motor just got rebuilt and the sled has just over 400 miles. I had all updates and the 07 high altitude programing done. Put a SLP can on it. I was wondering if I decide to keep it what are some safe mods I can do to lighten it up a bit and gain a little more HP? I didnt want to go over board. I was thinking a boondocker control box with NOS and maybe pipes? As for light weight I have been told that getting after market A arms they bend due the weight of this sled so I was thinking skis and tryint go find lexan pannels and I have heard to remove the sway bar how much weight loss does that do and and how do you do that? Any help or ideas will be appreciated thanks!

Armysledder, I have asked the same questions. My sled came with an HPS can which I know saves a lot of weight and also is not too loud. Mine also has simmons skiis on it and they work great. It is nice having them so flexible as I have already found some hard stuff under the snow that they kinda just bounce off of instead of break and they seem to do a decent job at keeping the nose up. However it would be fun to try some of the 10in simmons because mine does seem to nose dive when you let off the power real quick. Mine also has Rktech 14:1 domes which make more crisp throttle and possibly add a little bit throughout but not too sure and I can still run pump premium.

I had SLP's on my RT, thought they worked great. The Boondocker box is good for 6-8 hp and really wakes it up. Mine didn't get over 1000 on the EGT's at WOT. Had a Dynamo Joe clutch kit that worked really well, dropped the clutch temps way down. Ran some NOS which worked good too. No sway bar was way better to ride aside from the weight savings.

#1 = Clutching....I have Dynamo Joes Kit and works awesome...
after that there is a bunch of things to do...boony box, sway bar removal if you dont ride trails...(I like mine in), gearing change, skis (I have 6.9 pilots...there are not to bad...I want simmons gen II's..)...

and lots more...

keep the sled you will love it after you stop hurting from holding on..

Stiff

So were do I get the Dynamo Joe clutch kit and were is the best place to get the boondocker control box at? What size carbide do I want to run on powder pros? Man I am loving modding this sled!

Check out the Mach Z forum over on dootalk for some fantastic info on the 1000 engine.

At a minimum do the fuel pump and uni-filter airbox mods that are described in detail over there.
