Just picked up a sled for my son and the headlights do not work correctly. They turn on for a minute each time you hit the dimmer switch but then fade out. Has anyone had a close issue that might know what is going on

Has that switch look? They usually fall apart and stop making a good connection, especially those that have seen a fair amount of sun. Eventually all the parts of the button pop out...
I moved my bar heater, reverse, and headlight switches off the bars after my headlight switch fell apart (it was an excuse to get different bars too). I was having the same issue, intermittent headlight operation, switch was trash.

well the swiitch looks great but that doesn't mean there isn't internal issues. seems weard that it works for a while and then fades away.
Hmm yeah that sounds like a different issue than the switch. I haven't had to diagnose much for electrical issues on these sleds so I'm not all that knowledgeable on the matter. The sled runs fine for long periods of time? I'm thinking that sounds like the lighting circuit of the stator, but that's somewhat of a stab in the dark.

Thanks Ron. I will have to have my son keep an eye on them. I think the tail light work fine? guess i need to let him ride out front for a bit so i can check it out.
The edge sled is known for the headlights switch to go bad under the blue button it will start by only affecting the light but will eventually affect the tack as stated we always took the switch apart a soldered a jumper in it ( always bright after that) but worked great good luck
Took the switch apart and it may be the cause, wish i had a wiring diagram. There are three wire there a Yellow, a Yellow with orange(or red) and a blue.
I do not know for sure how this is wired I assume it is a Yellow supply with the yellow orange being high or low and the Blue being high or low. The switch didn't test out right for this configuration so it may be bad but I don't know if my assumptions are correct. The Blue wire seemed to go to Ground and that didn't seem right either as I always thought Brown was Ground. Anybody have a wiring diagram for the 02 edge or something close?
