help with hard starting Pro

My 2011 800 pro has become difficult to start with a cold engine. It starts to fire but will not run, acts like it needs more fuel. once it is running and warm no issue at all, it runs great and comes up to full power with no issues. Any ideas?

I haven't had it checked but it idles fine and runs fine, and starts fine once it has started once in the morning. I did try giving it a little throttle and that didn't seem to do much. It just seems to be when it has sat all night and cold. it only will pop once but not start. it will do that about 3 times and then not even pop. Thanks

hard start

Could be TPS But I would check throttle lever free play if that does not help change plugs. If it still happens do a compression check .

Then hold the throttle wide open and pull it over. It'll likely start up then. Your injectors can sometimes flood the cylinder during a cold start.

As above.... How many miles.

I have just replaced the fuel filter on mine and 2 friends sleds. Mine was the lowest miles with 1200 on it. I could barely blow through the fuel line.

Check fuel pressure. If it's good then check your filter or TPS out of adjustment

Start with setting/adjusting your TPS first, then check into the fuel stuff. Could be leaking injector or pressure problem as mentioned.

New plugs won't hurt, if you haven't tried that. While ya change those, check the primary plug leads for rub through spots etc...

When is the last time you replaced the sparkplugs? Any time I've had a hard starter I always start by replacing the plugs - even on fuel injected ones you can foul - or partially foul - plugs. My '14 with 300 miles on it partially fouled the plugs on Sunday.

The mechanics at my dealer swear that the plug wires on the Pros are weak and don't provide enough voltage all the time. They have replaced several sets with better aftermarket sets.

Thanks for all the help, I changed the plugs and that didn't hurt but it didn't cure it completely, I have to give it a little throttle to start so My guess is the throttle play or TPS. Have been too busy to deal with but hope to soon. Once i do all let you know what happens.

Hard starting

Had 2 diferent sleds come thru the shop this season with same issue. One had been rebuilt recently and the ring end gaps were set too tight, scoring both cylinders. Shoot some WD40 or cheap carb cleaner in the cylinders, put the plugs back in and it would fire right up. Compression tester said 110# at 5500 ft (good) but it would not start if you did not leave inside overnight. The 2nd one had the tail light wires pinched just ahead of the tail light. It would not start below 50 degrees no matter what you did. During assembly, the wires got out partially out of the channel and eventually shorted together. Fixed the wires and changed the vreg and it has been fine since.
