Help with grip/hand warmer glue

Help, I'm switching bars and wonder what people have used to
re-glue hand warmers and/or grips. Anything out there that
takes the heat?

Thanks,
PCar

I have never used glue at all 'nor would I ever try it.
Heated grips can stop working for one reason or another and the very last thing I want to deal with when removing the old grips to replace the heater is friggen glue.
I have always only used hairspray to install the new grips and the grip just slides on.
When the alcohol in the hairspray evaporates, what's left sticks very well but is service removable later.

I change them all of the time with cheap black spray paint. Get em on there fast as it's nearly instant. No slippage even with softer duration grips like ODI.
Heat em up in really hot water...dry them and spray the bar and the inside of the grips...smoosh them on. On occasion you might have to puff up the grips with your air compressor then they pop right on. Four hands is nice on this job. Leave them alone without testing or twisting for a couple of hours.

Ditto Snowdad, slow set epoxy. It was per the instructions on my Hot Grips. Tried Hairspray on regular grips. Moisture got in and the slid off like they were greased.

I removed the Hot grips using a heat gun and a welders glove. Just pushed from the inside bar side of the grip. If you touch the hot grip surface after heating with a gun, it will stick to your glove and ruin the grip. Chances are you will ruin the grips anyway taking them off.

Spit man spit! I switched my stock edge rmk grips over to gel type moto grips a couple weeks ago. Spitting let them slide right on. After a day my spit dried and they are solid, and can even be taken back off without damaging them. If you glue them on they prolly won't be reusable if you ever have to take them off since you will most likely have to cut them off. Grips are cheap though...

What about the hand warmers

What about the hand warmers themselves. I was able to salvage the warmers off the stock handlebars, they are a semi-hard plastic sheet.

Any thoughts on glue for the actual warmers. I've thought of just pitching
them but there have been many days we come out of the back country and
I'm thankful there is some heat being poured into my soaked gloves while we
head 20 miles back to the condo.

Thanks again,
PCar

I've used Honda Grip glue in the past for warmers and grips but you will not be able to remove and salvage them. put the glue on the bar and smear thin. then use couple of those thick rubber bands to hold it until dry then to the grip.

You could also use super weather strip adhesive for the warmers and follow the inst. on the package.

thank you, worked excellent. The only thing I messed up was not cutting it to length first put it was easy to pull off if you did it right away. A bit more spray paint and it was on.

In order to prevent paint overspray, I used a plastic bread bag over the handlebar and sprayed into it.
