Help with changing rings 04 800

I have changed out a few pistons in my time but never with needle bearing. Are there any special tools needed to do this? Also, any tips/advice that would help make this easier would be hugely appreciated I may be re ringing soon

There is a special tool you can use but i never did. A few things i have learnt is make sure that you stuff a bunch of rags covering the holes to your bottom end. There are cagesless bearings and if anything finds its way into the bottom end you have a bigger job ahead of u.
Ooops. Just realised you said changing rings so forget what i said above unless you are doing pistons as well.

Rings are super easy just make sure they are gapped properly, facing up, and there is a notch in the piston where the ring gap should be. And it is always nice to have another hand when putting the cylinders back on

go get some caged bearings... makes life a lot easier

dealer sells the caged bearings. I change them all out to the caged type and call it good. Piston pin puller and lots of rags or tape with the sticky side up to catch the needles as they fall.
