Help w/Clutching?

I have a 2013 1100T, I ride at both sea level and about 10k ft. Do I need to switch clutching from elevation to sea level? I have EVO 215, BRV and Speedwerx pipe.

Coming off 2 stroke, had to change helix and weights each time. I know everyone has their opinion on what works best for what they do, I am just looking to find out if it will work at elevation and I can fine tune once I have tried it or if it is a must to change before I go out?

If I must change, suggestions?

Thanks.

Call Steve at MDS or racinstation. In theory the sled should make 215 at seal level up to 10000ft.

I would say that likely at low elevations(like Mn) the clutching is not as critical, compared to 10000ft where the turbo lag starts to show a little imo. Racinstation, madmax, b1dodge, WKM all on here all have time on the 215 map from evo and know what it takes to put the power to the ground.

For what it is worth, steve at MDS told me last year that I may want to run a Gold Polaris? spring at home here in mn compared to running the poo black that I ran out west. Snow sucked here last year and never got a chance to check it out.

I would say buy a setup for the mountains and add some weight for the lower elevations. The nice thing about the 11t is that at higher elevations if your making 7900 rpm your good. At lower elevations the little turbo can flow more air and the evo map is good to allow it to rev up to 8500 compare to stock 8100. heck if you look at the dyno map the "215" map is making over 200 hp for like 1000 rpm. Talk about easy to clutch.

Turbo I would imagine he recommended a cat gold to you. That's what my flatland setups have come with.

i have the same setup and racingstation sent me a H5 spring I believe he called it. I will look. But when it was stock power he sent a black Polaris then changed to this other one. Also suggested a different helix in the secondary. So I have that also

Hmmm I see, I need to find out what spring MDS recommends now. The H5 spring is a speedwerx branded spring. It is a H5 alloy suppose to be like titanium but less cost.

As far as I know Steve is still recommending Polaris black. This was 3 weeks ago.such a broad curve on these things like turbo11 mentioned earlier. If you overrev on flatland even up to 8500 with the evo flash it's still going to be making nice power. From what I understand its still well within safe limits for this engine. I am going to be running cat gold with mds at home (1500) ft and pol black at elevation. Stock helix for both setups. I hope to take it out in the next couple weeks at home and let people know my Rpms. Keep in mind I'm shooting for 7900 ish at elevation but am ok with a little overrev at home I realize 8500 isn't ideal.

I did the BC 275hp kit and Steve still said stick with the Polaris black spring and just add weight. I'm am also going to do a 36/44 helix

That sounds like a solid combination-:light:
The 2013 comes with a 42/44 ( kinda backward IMHO)
Polaris black- is a spring that i am just seeing is used in a wide combination.
What spring you going use in the secondary?

S/C

Was told the stocker in secondary is good for now until people have more seat time on them. I'm sure there are better springs for both primary and secondary but people need more seat time and trial and error to find what one works.
