i have a garret 2860 on my sled and its leaking oil out the compressor side.......what does this mean? is ther a seal that i can replace or do i need to buy a whole new center section or what. it an older boondocker kit with the old non vented oil tank could it have built up to much pressure in the tank?

how bad is it leaking? The seals in the center section are like piston rings. They will leak a little but if the thing is spitting oil bad then you are outta luck............

its not bad.... i tiped the sled on its side while running and it started smoking bad so i shut it off ...got it turned around and up right...started it rode it burned the motor oil out of the engine...and now it just seems to leak alittle bit. i cant see it loosing any oil running , just can smell oil and the pre filter is covered in oil and aliitle bit on the back side of the compressor housing.

Ive had them do this before. If your runnin an electric oil pump which boondocker does then it makes it worse when your on you side or upside down and she is still pumping full force. We used to put restictors in them to slow the flow down a little. Id clean her all up and keep riding it and keep an eye on it. If you find its still leaking a good bit out of the compressor side every ride or its eating oil every ride then its probably hurt. I used to have to clean my intake housing out every few rides because a little oil would be on the inside of the housing but it was never free flowing by any means. This went away when we started using the stock oil pump to oil the turbo......
