600 miles from home and buddies sled stalled. No spark not a whole lot we can check sitting at bear lodge. Are there any common thing we can check? We were thinking voltage regulator let it sit overnight still nothing. Any help would be great.

Bear Lodge on the Bighorns? The mechanics there can't help out at all? They have quite a few Pro's in their fleet. Is the Sheridan dealer open on Sunday? You could give them a call, its not too far down the mountain for parts, it may salvage your weekend.

Does it have a tether? I had 2 out of 3 sleds that developed a short. Just take off the hood, track the plug from the tether and unplug. Worth a shot.

Got home late last night and dropped it of at my local dealer, polaris dealer in sherdian didnt seem to motivated to fix it, and rental shop where we stayed didnt seem to care much. My home town dealer will take care of me but I lost 3 full days of riding on our only trip out west this year, I am very frustrated.

if it will start when u give it some gas but it wont idle on its own then u have moisture in your throttle position sensor

Was the ECU. What should I expect out of polaris? My only trip out west this year and it died in the first 3 hrs and never restarted. Wasted a week of vacation and sat in the lodge while everyone was riding, not to mention money spent on a trip, I am extremly upset, what should I expect out of polaris besides a repair? 2012 with 130 miles on it.

Nothing. They won't care. :face-icon-small-sad

The customer service at the dealer in Sheridan is terrible. The owner gives you the impression that he is annoyed that you came into his store. How he has stayed in business for so many years is amazing to me. I totally believe in doing business local as much as I can but both my buddy and I drove 2 hrs to billings MT to buy our sleds. So I'm not surprised that they were not much help. Sorry for your wasted trip.

Hold the throttle wide open, it will start. Its a TORS issue. Happened last weekend to me.

Same issue with mine after sitting for a week in Feb. One thing I always do now is flip the throttle a few times before I start it cold, which I never did on that one instance, don't know if it really helps. Only happened that one time. If it doesn't start within 3 or 4 pulls, throttle closed, a kill circuit is open.

The blown trips suxs badly. Don't discount the ability to take the sled to another town, e.g., Casper, Gillette, Billings, etc., all within a few hours, if Sheridan treated you like crap. Just call ahead. But, you gotta have a vehicle. ECU's are not a common issue on a new sled, but it has happened.

100% agreed

That is the one thing I hate about going to the Horns, there are no parts or service avalible. Doesn't matter the make of the sled, none of the dealers or the rental shop have any mechanics or parts.
