help/pointers on removing drive shaft.

I have to replace my track on my 08 xp. I took the covers off the brake and chain case to get to the drive shaft. I removed the c clips, chaincase cover and sprocket as well as the brake.... i cant figure out if I have to remove that plastic piece in order to remove the drive shaft. and if so what is the trick in removing it.. any help would be greatly appriecated...

What plastc piece? With those items removed you should be able to slide the shaft to one side and work it out.

drive shaft removal

its just a plastic cap on the the end of the drive shaft....thanks I will try to remove it. Just wondering if that had to be removed...
