2016 m8000 died and know have no spark. Any ideas out there. Stator maybe but that is a tough fix in the mountains. Anyone have any other ideas. Thanks.

We had one with a blown motor in a situation like that and ended up with four sleds/experienced riders hooked front to back drag it up and over a big climb. The broken sled had to be riderless. It was a rodeo as it took more than a few tries and lots laughs when we got it out.

Move thread out of 1100proclimb to get more views and possibly some 800cc knowledge?

I would concentrate efforts on getting it out. A few hundred feet of rope and a pulley. You can either use a tree as an anchor or tie a few sleds together on the hill. Build a road and use a sled going slow downhill to pull the dead one up. Fixing a sled on the hill is terrible. NEVER have the right tool of part. If you only have the weekends too do it IMO your time is better served to get a large group and bring it home. I have been wanting to get a capstan rope winch to leave In the trailer for these occasions. Good luck. Always tough.

If you tried the obvious stuff and you cant tow it out, you obviously have 3 choices...use winches or ropes (chainsaw wench), you bring parts in and try them out or you fly it oit with a helicopter.

A stator is not all that bad to do in the field with good planning. With proper tools and a good bon-fire one guy roasts weenies and serves beer and the other guy wrenches. Might be easier and less expensive than other back breaking options, if things go well you might still have enough daylight to get a good afternoon ride in.
