Alrighty, im buying a TM8 and have narrowed it down to two choices and cant make up my mind!

First one: 09 LE, Boondockers Pump with EBC, Koso EGT's, Boondockers pipe, 153'' 90 Duro Powerclaw, full venting, and some BDX lightweight stuff. Beautiful sled, well taken care of 900 miles (300 on boost).

Second: 09 SP, Boondockers Pump with manual boost, Koso EGT's, 162'' Powerclaw, gill vents. 650 miles (400 on boost).

Both are about the same price

I will be riding at home which is about 3000ft and want to run straight av gas, how much boost can i run? 6-7 maybe?

Weekends ill be riding at about 5-7000ft, running a mix of av and premium or just straight av. How much boost?

Sorry for the long post, just need your help to make up my mind!

Thanks

if I was primarily going to be ditch banging I'd go with the LE

#1.

shorter track= more fun, more vents are always good, lighter is better

and the 09 LE is the only good looking sled that cat has made in the last 6 years! (also means it came with a boss seat)

ditch banging and some nice small but steep hills to climb at home. then weekends mainly small pulls but mainly tree riding

at 3000ft you will run out of fuel running much higher than 6-7 psi...your better off going with a race gas setup when you run down low...so then you can have some adjustability and your injectors wont be running on max duty cycle...

am running a twisted race gas 09 m8 at 1750-2500ft and run 9psi on straight 112, 6psi with 100 octane avfuel

oh yeah and get the 153! i shortened mine from a 162 and love it...also get a afr gauge if you buy one of the boondocker sleds...i find its alot easier to tune...

but for my hard earned cash i would find a race gas ovs or twisted 09 m8 with a 153 and call it a day! but they say its all in the setup in a boondocker, but when i was going to pump gas turbo a m1000 i found them even hard to deal with trying to buy the kit...not much knoiwledge...thats one huge reason to get a ovs or twisted sled!

The 153 is fun but I can still make a 162 do the same thing but burn less gas and go farther. I would get the EBC kit if it has all the latest updates, new wiring harness and fuel supply stuff. The 153-162 is all dependent on you, everyone I know rides a 162 so my 153 with me being the heaviest is lacking, but with the Kmod suspension I can carve some crazy lines and still get to the top.

Basically IMO the Latest version of the EBC kit is the first kit boonedocker put out that has worked in comparison to the others.

thanks guys for all the info. Im going with a 153 because thats what im use too and if worse come to worse and i dont like it i can always put a big wheel kit on and go to a 156 camo without any problem. Thats what i did last year with my big bore and it was a night and day difference imo!

Mod800 your completely right about the race gas setup over the pump, but i havent found any ovs or twisted sleds for sale that are remotely close to me! Im dealing on one locally that i just found and its an 09 M8 SP 153 with bd pg setup and has the low boost actuator installed so i can run down to 4.5-5lbs for when im bombing around at home. I think this is the one ill go with since it was all built by Jeff at Dakota Performance so ill have local support if i have issues! The sled only has 500 miles and it was bought as a hold over last year then put all the goods into it. Being done last year it should be the latest boondocker kit right?
