Help me! Diesel trucks and gaming boxes

Two questions:

1. I am in the market for a new truck. It's gotta be an extended cab with a short bed so it'll fit in the garage. I currently drive a 03 F250 (lifted) 7.3liter.
I want more power, better mileage, heated seats (love those things) with a good warranty. What are your honest opinions (no bashing please, it's a serious inquiry)?

2. What's better. the XBOX 360, the new Playstation or the Wii? I need something to keep me occupied during my off week.

Thanks,
PJ

xbox 360 and ps3 i have heard some problems with the xbox frying out but they are covered by warranty, both have the better graphics and games, i am personally going to go buy a ps3 this week, either way i think you will be happy

I'd go PS3 for the gaming system for a couple reasons. The PS3 has the ability to play Blu-Ray and upconvert SD-DVDs and is infinately upgradeable. Secondly, they don't have the "red ring of death" failure issues the XBox 360 has. The Xbox has a better selection of games, at the moment, but PS3's selection is increasing daily. The PS3 also makes a kick-butt media center.

BTW, I own a PS3 and love it.

If you are looking for mileage don't bother buying a new diesel. I'd look for a nice 2007. Just my .02

2008 Ford Diesel mileage sucks

Go with a good used diesel if you want mileage. I have an 08 and love everything but the mileage. Pulling an alum enclosed trailer with 2 sleds I get around 10.5 mpg round trip from denver to the mtns. Less if I put my foot in it. Empty on the highway is like 14. Good power and trim package though.

I bought an 07 Cummins with the 5.9 and 4 speed auto. Think some dealers still have these. Really great mileage. I didn't want the new motors and trans.

These were made until around July 07 then they went to the new 07's with the 6.7 and 6 speed. My friend has the 6.7 and really likes it, but I get better mileage.

Do not get the interim 5 speed auto that Dodge had for a short while!!!

Good luck

What 5 speed auto? There was the 48RE 4 speed from late 03-07 and the 68RE from 07.5-current.

Dude if you wanna go slightly used try to find a 2006 duramax, if you want new go with an 08 duramax. By far the nicest truck and most comfortable. Im am trying to pick up an 08 duramax extended cab short bed myself. They take some breaking in to get the mileage you want but my buddies 08 crew cab gets 15 mpg on the highway with two sleds on the deck... As far as the game system get an x box 360, way better games and better controlls. My brother fried 2 of them but i havnt fried mine yet haha and there are some temporary fixxes for them once they do fry.

I have an 06 D-max and love it, nice interier, rides nice, great engine and great transmission. The LBZ engine has more power then all the other chevy diesels and it also comes with a six speed auto. You should be able to pick one of these up in the low 30's.

Like many other people have said, stay away from any diesel engine made after Jan 1, 2007 has all the emissions junk. On top of it costing more for the consumer to buy a pickup equiped with this, you have more things that are apt to fail, and the re-burn cycle heats kills mileage.

if you want better mileage out of any pickup, dont lift it. have also heard of guys pulling the DPF off the new diesels and improving mileage. not sure that that is exactly on the up and up though

5 speed in 2005. Maybe lasted a year or so, can't remember for sure how long they kept it. There is a 5 speed listed behind the hemi in 1500 now.

Never thought I'd say it but played on a Wii this last weekend. Tiger Woods Golf and Pro Bowling are addictive as all get out. Though their games seem to be more family oriented than some of the more violent titles on PSP and XBox. If the Wii doesn't intrigue you I'd go witht eh Xbox simply because of reliability and it has capability of playing Blue Ray DVD's. Price out a Blue Ray disk player and you'll see what I mean as far as bang for your buck. :)

Yes, behind the 1500....never had a 5 speed behind a Cummins. Went from 48RE to 68RFE. The 68RFE is a badass transmission. Nobody has had issues up to 450 rwhp.

I get 19mpg driving 75 out of my 08 Dodge cummins with the 68RFE.
Exaust break is a great addition.

There has been alot of issues with some (not all) 6.0 L fords and the new fords get very poor mileage.

Dunno on game system, i still have a ps2.

How true that statement is. I have not had any problems, but the fuel mileage will drive me to another brand if it doesn't get fixed soon.

What? I think you mean PS3... Even before the format war was decided, the HD-DVD capability of the XBox was an add on that you had to pay more for.

The 360 and the PS-3 both have their pros and cons. Both are fantastic machines.

- PS3 has a little better graphics and is a more powerful console, but it comes with a bigger price than the 360. But the again the PS3 is also a blue ray player so you have to figure that in.

- The Xbox has more games and alot more GOOD games. Sony is really lacking here which is odd since the PS2 has a bunch of good ones.

- If you enjoy playing on-line, Xbox live has Sony's online network beat up / down / sideways / and back again. I rarely ever play regular games anymore, it is all on-line for me. Games like Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, Halo 3, and sports titles are an absolute blast online and you can play your friends seemlessly.

- The PS3 being a Blue Ray player that also upconverts can not be understated. This is a huge plus.

I have a 360, but will be getting a PS3 solely to be a Blue Ray player. I have buddies who have both and they prefer the Xbox 360 because of the on-line capabilities, but if both consoles have the same game they say the PS3 has better graphics.
