Help! M1000 Loosing RPM's

I just took my sled out on a big ride up in Island Park. Sled ran great down low at lower elevations, maybe around 5500 or 6000 ft, then as we got higher up arond 8-11, it started to loosed RPM's. I made a couple pulls down low and it seemed to hold around 7200 or 7300 but at higher elev. i couldnt even pull that many R's and near the top i would drop to anywhere between 6800 to 7000. I was told maybe i need to get a fuel pressure regulator as they have had a problem with this. I know on a big pull it gets hot and all but seems to just loose to many R's.
Any advice on how to fix this problem would help a lot. Its an 07' M1000, slp intake, 09' updates and skinz can. stock otherwise.
Also seems to idle high around 2100 to 2300. dont know what it should be but seemed high to me

To start with we need to know what your clutching set up is. If you are running the proper RPM at 5000 feet you will be turning less R's at 10,000 feet. You can just grind a little off your weights if you have a gram scale. You will turn a few to many R's at 5000 feet though. What elevation do you usually ride at? Don't start playing with clutching until you have a new belt on though. Doesn't do any good to tune with a bad belt.
