HELP, Looking for sled for 8 year old, need opinions

My son is 8 years old and is 4 foot 2, he is too big for the 120s. I have looked at a 340 and bravo, any ideas guys. Need something that will steer easy for him but he can grow with also. I appreciate your info,THANKS.

Are you looking for a Mtn sled or will a trail machine do?

You could find a firecat 500 or something small like that.

I founs a nice polaris 340,not sure how it turns,i know not every sled will be the best, but lookin for something to ride trails and a bit of powder, hes still pretty young for deep stuff.

A good friend of mine got a Ski Doo Freestyle Backcountry for his 6 yr old.

Very manageable sled, decent deep snow perf and not too much power.

My son is 7, he rides a yamy bravo. They are cheap and are eazy to sell if they grow out of it. its a good little sled, I put an edge rmk seat on it and ski skins. The seat makes it a bit better to ride for the lil guys and the skis make the steering better.

would like an 01/02 pro x 440 or XC 600 polaris be too much for him? It would for sure give him plenty of room to grow. and you could always put a block or something on the throttle to keep him from getting too much power...

My kids have a 91 Phazer Mountain that they ride. Its the old style Phazer, light, easy to steer and goes very well even in the powder.

Polaris Indy Lite, or Yamaha Ovation. Both 340cc fanners and reasonably light. I put rail grips, skid plate and plastic skis on my Indy Lite and it behaves very well for the 8 year old. It is surprising how much snow it will motor through.

Find an old Yamaha Bravo 250. I found one for $150

My son used it until he was 11, then dished that sled for $250. The motors on those old things last forever.......

We have a yamaha Ovation 340 fanner for our kids. 10 years old now. It has a electric start. Very handy. they can pull start it now but not when they were 8.

We started our kids when they were 6 on a 340 Indy Lite. When they got to be about 10-12ish depending on their size and ability then we moved them up to a bigger sled.
