HELP..just pulled the suspension..had to grind off nuts ..and need new options

man what a nightmare.the front bolt was stripped inside so i had to grind it off and anyway its ugly..
i thinkl the best solution would be to replace the whole suspension set-up..man not sure how im gonna swing it but i wanna ride so i will need to make it happen..
1st what suspension options will bolt right in so i know what to look for.
2nd if i am gonna replace the suspension is there a bolt-on one that would be a good upgrade to the stock ? like a stock dragon or such >?

Post up some pics... "front bolt" can refer to a lot of different things.

What length track do you have in the sled?

Are you changine tracks?

What is ruined on the old suspension.

Cheers,
MH.

I'm going to take a stab at it and say his front torque arm to tunnel bolt broke off inside the torque arm sleeve.

Just a wild guess...

Post up some pics... "front bolt" can refer to a lot of different things. there are 4 bolts that hold the suspension in place ..one of them wouldnt come out so i had to grid it to a stub to get the suspension out

What length track do you have in the sled? i have the stock 2006 polaris fusion 700 track

Are you changine tracks? not unless it is included tight budget

What is ruined on the old suspension.
there is a a part bottom of the shock mount that is broken and need to be welded along with a bolt still stuck in suspension
Cheers,that i grided
MH.
so what r my best options ??

^^answer these questions that MH posted.

Timbersled skid would be the bets aftermarket kit by none!!

and if you are referring to the front upper torque arm bolt that DD suggested, are you SURE it was stripped...they do spin in there if you have the other side loose already..its a game getting both sides out w/o them spinning...

hope you didnt jump the gun and grind off the bolt when it wasnt needed.

did you get the skid ALL the way out now? if so, can you tap the bolt out? a local machinist can do it for you to save you time/money?

I run the Timbersled and so does BiggDawg and they work awesome but they will cost you some dollars. I wish I was in MT right now I have the whole rear suspension in a box somewhere buried in my storage shed with about 500 miles onit.

Why don't you just buy new aluminum cross shafts? That would probably be the cheepest.

shafts are about $27 online. Just remembered part of your suspension was broke too. Are you able to fix it? Which part is it in the pictures?

The Timbersled suspension will run you $1600 if you use your stock rails and $2000 with ice age rails. Might be able to find it a few dollars cheaper if you search long enough.

You are talking on the rear torque arm right? So your rear torque arm needs repair or replace. Part number 5 in the top photo (kind of confusing because for some reason there are two number 5's)

Part number 1542136-067 about $159

so you could get a new shaft and a new rear torque arm for around $200

oops those were RMK photos and you have a fusion. Little more expensive on the Fusion.

YA AND I CAN GET A NEW TAKE-OFF SUSPENSION FOR A FEW BUCKS MORE I WAS THINKING IF I KNEW WHAT WOULD FIT/BOLT RIGHT ON..AND WOULD HAVE THE OLD SUSPENSION FOR SPARE PARTS..just trying to figure out my best option..so what atke-off stock suspension would bolt on ? ive seen a few IQ, and dragons for under $400 like new would they fit ?

lmao yup i bet i did grind it off when it wasnt needed..man i need a mechanic freind lol...so how do i get it out now ..guess i will try putting in the other side and use monkey wrench ..still; need weldiong so full suspension take-off or such is still an option..

It's 31 inches between the mounting point for the front arm and the mounting point for the rear arm on mine. As long as that measurement is the same you should be able to bolt the RMK suspension right in. I'm not sure how it would change the handling though because it is designed with different terrain in mind than the Fusion suspension.
