Help. Bad Vibration

Pulled the clutch, put a dial indicator on crank and it was good. Started sled without clutch. Reved it up to 5000rpm. Vibration still there. Motor didnt seem to run wierd, rev faster, over speed, idle down slower, or blow up. Guess ill ride it as is till next summer or till she blows. Whichever comes first

Mine vibrates like a mofo from like 2500-4500 rpm. i know some of it is becuase i went with Boost-it motor mounts but my god. Wife actually told me today she couldnt ride my sled very long or she would have an orgasm

I need to put some of those mounts on my wife's sled your saying... That could be a fun ride! :photo:

phil... did you do a compression test on the sled?

What about checking piston wash on the domes?

Mine also shakes like a mofo and has 2 Boost-it motor mounts in and 2 stock ones. Shaked so much that it cracked my ypipe and can... had to order new ones. :face-icon-small-con

Spend the money to have Indy Dan long rod your crank and you will notice no more vibration and gain a fair amount of performance to boot. This is a result of two things; better rod ratio and an increase in crankcase volume.

Havent checked compression or wash. I put new rktek pistons in this summer. Sled runs awesome just vibrates

Sled ran fine after pistons. The shaking is new. Last three rides. Boost-it motor mounts 2 rides. Probably 10 on pistons.

Motor is going to indydan next summer for long rod.

2600 miles on sled so far

Have you had any detonation? If so it may well have flattened the needles of the wrist pin bearings and left dents in the upper rod bearing surface. Someone else on here just ran into that issue.
