Help - Adjusting ski stance on a Switchback Assault

I'm looking for a cheap and quick way to adjust the ski stance on the assault that I just bought. Has anyone just cut the bushing that is pressed into the spindle, and then put it on the other side of the ski as a "spacer". Similar to adjusting ski's on a Summit....... ??? Will this work or will I mess something up by doing this?

It comes in the narrow position, so that modification would give the sled a wider stance.

Uh, there shouldn't be any need to do any cutting. I think you have two bushings that you can move around. Two on the inside, one on the inside, or none gives you narrow, medium and wide. 41.5", 42.5", and 43.5" I think.
