Help / 900 Flat spot

I rode my new used 2005 900 the first time this weekend.

Hugh flat sport off idle. Idles well, then just basically studders until about 5,000 them really smooth. Lots of power. Doesn't seem to have the typical 900 vibration at all.

What would cause this flat spot ?

I have ridden 800 edges for 5 years so I am used to very smooth response.

Nice sled, New 32 mm Crank, New pistons, SLP pipe, CPI stingers. New TPS supposed to be. Remapped suposed to be. New Primary clutch.

I know the local dealer who did the work HighMark Boise.

Help Suggestions ?

Air Box Wires

Mine has been converted to the SLP air box in the front.

Would this have the same sensor in it ?

are you in Boise?

send a PM to 2poor..he is juist outside of Boise and he is extremely sharpe..he might be able to meet up with you and help out..he is a GREAT guy to deal with..

if not, we will try and direct you

is the TPS harness new as well, or just the TPS..i personally would check the TPS myslef, and try to find out if the harness is updated as well...check about 12'' from the tps itself and back...the updated harness is only about a ft long..see if its spliced in?

how about your clutching..do you have a binding clutch at all? bad bushings, broekn primary spring?

Thanks for the tips / keep them comming

I will follow up with all of it. So far I love this sled.

You may also want to check your throttle cable tension. I had the same problem last year and it ended up being as easy as that.

I had the same Problem and adjusting my throttle cable fixed it. Then it happened after I installed a milled head, I found out I had to run premium fuel due to premature detonation. Just my 2 cents.
