Help - 2012 SBA - Rev Limiter?

I put a few hundred miles on the Assault this weekend and had a reoccurring problem. Snow conditions were hard pack. No powder at all. Mid day the sun softened it up a bit, but for the most part, lots of traction.

5 different times I had the same issue. Cruising along at 20-25 mph on bumpy trails, approach a small hump, pin it to lift the skis when hitting the hump. The sled would wheelie no problem, but would hit a point when it would stutter. It didn't lose all power, and would recover as soon as I backed off on the throttle. My initial thought was that it was a belt slipping, but after it happened a few times it felt more like fuel starvation at WOT.

With all of the talk about piston and injector issues on these sleds, I'm obviously concerned. To make the best of it, my warranty expires next week, so I'd like to figure this out quickly. I called my dealer, explained the behaviour, and they said it sounded like a rev limiter. I didn't even think these sleds had rev limiters do they? Could it be a bad injector that can't feed fuel fast enough at that RPM? Bad fuel filter? Bad electrical connectors not firing properly?

Any insight or thoughts?

Thanks
Colin

They do have a rev limiter 8500. If you are clutch to light will hit it before it can seen on the display. In your manual there is a section on how to record 3 minutes of run time might help trouble shoot your problem.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check into it and keep a close eye on the next ride.

Any recommendations on what clutch weights I should be running?
