Help! 2008 600RMK CFI instrument shows 00000 miles??????

this is a used sled and when started the guage shows 000000 total miles. and the speedo does not work either. It does show 82.7 hours so that is working fine. I dont think it is the speedo pickup because the instrument should still show existing miles. Any ideas??? thanks

i had this same problem with mine. turned out to be a short in the handwarmers, check your wires/plugs that go to the bars. and the wires on the warmers themselves
also you may try unplugging your ecu and plug it back in?

Yes, Good advice. One of the wires was pulled out of the little paper element under the grip on mine and was shorting out on the bars. Had intermittent problems with my display gauge but it would just totally blank out (not any change with the miles). The handwarmer had quit working on that side too.
You could just unplug the handwarmers to see if that fixes it instead of peeling your grips back to physically look at them. I think there was a bulletin that year that said to put electric tape on the bar under the handwarmer element to avoid the shorting issues.
