HELP! 04 rev died...or somethin??

sled is an 04 rev 827....ran great all day, till the last half mile on the trail...was in an out of the throttle bout 45-55 mph and all the sudden it just dies. lock the breaks up and skid to stop. speedo and tach are froze up where it died at. pull rope easy to see if seized. pulls easy...try startin and 2 pulls it starts..sounds like flooded or 1 cyl. so killed it and pulled back to truck. pull plugs. look fine no aluminum.
think the same thing happened last year, and i came to conclusion i thought it was kill switch. disengaged it. looked in exhuast ports and so sign of squeeked piston. was fine till now.
before i tear down again...anybody have any suggestions? electrical? dpm? anything!?

Yea check all your dpm hoses did you roll it at all if so it may have fuel in one of the lines which would give a fallty message, I have an 06 and it would wnat to die till i found the problem with the lines. But for the rpm and speedo to remain at the position it died in is a mystery????

Before teardown do a compression test and see if you even need to go there,???

sounds familiar christmas day mine locked up also froze guages,was clutch side crank bearing and crank counter weight started to seperate.new reman crank,pistons and good to go now,,,,,,,notsure why guages froze??

good point...will do compression test too...might save me from havin to take out and remove those PITA y pipe bolts....didnt roll that day...suprisingly :S ran like 6 miles of trail till that point too.
also....sled didnt lock up...i locked the brakes up when it died...good info tho thanks!

ok so...compression test had 148 on pto....30 mag pulled y-pipe and looked in exhaust ports...no damage there...except wash looks almost non existant?? guess ill pull carbs and reeds and whatnot.....could a broken reed pedal be the problem??

Check your carb boots for holes.

carb boots are startin to delaminate..(go figure) but pulled her apart and looks pretty much like a 4 corner seize to me....at the end of the day....this point to T-stat??

Carb boots cost me a rebuild last year, I knew I should have changed them out!
