Help!!! 01 Ski-Doo 800 MXZ

I have an 01 MXZ 800, It has burned down twice in he last 2 rides. First we noticed the water impeller went out an we fixed that, than we took it out yesterday and burned it down again, this time the side of the piston was ate all th wayh trough....What is going on? Please Help....thanks.....

oil injection may have had a bubble in line or a kink in the line !! does the the DEPM ( sp) run the oil pump ?

Why did the water pump impeller fail ? Are you still running the thermostat, if so it could have failed, slammed shut then the engine overheats, then the stat opens and floods your engine with cold coolant...cly. shrinks and piston goes away???? Just a thought. Dino

We took out the thermostat, and the impeller striped out of the shaft (thats weird)... We are tearing it apart tonight to see if any lines are blocked.... Thanks guys

The water and oil pump are shaft driven off the crank.
Make sure they are both operating and that the oil lines are bled. Pull the reeds and look for delamination, the atock reeds are junk and often delaminate and leak air.
When it's rebuilt and first started, put some oil in the fuel for insurance. Put a coathanger on the oil pump arm and lift it up to see if it starts smoking real bad (confirms it's pumping oil).
