Helmet ventilation?

I am in the market for a new helmet. The new moto type helmets have quite a bit more ventilation than the one I have been wearing. My current helmet is an MSR Superlight, @ 10 years old and has some ventilation. So, I'm due to replace it. I looked at a Fly Trophy II helmet this weekend. It fit great, but is full of vents.

Is this a problem on powder days or on cold days?

Do you guys with sweaty heads wear anything like a balaclava under the helmet?

I usually go bare headed until it gets below 0.

I just put duct tape on the inside behind the cushioning in the areas that had too many vents...... Cant see it from the outside and seems to work just fine........
