Helmet Painting

Looking to get my old HJC moto helment painted. I love the fit and my goggles have never once fogged with this helmet, so I'd like to keep it, just want to strip the graphics and paint off and get it painted a solid bright blaze orange. Anyone know of anyone/place capable of doing this for $125-150? I've got quotes as high as $350, which is out of the question. If anyone knows of any helmets that are a solid blaze, let me know as I've only seen orange graphics.

Thanks,
Mike

If you are talking about spraying just a solid bright orange, :face-icon-small-con why not spray it yourself? Remove graphics, clean with solvent, sand with 320 grit sandpaper, spray with your choice of color, take your time between coats, sand out any dirt or imperfections, let final coat dry. Then seal with a good clear coat, auto paint supply store should carry a good quality rattle can like (UPOL),or something similar. Then you can pay yourself the $125.00 for a job well done, put it towards gas or mods. :face-icon-small-win

I would say follow the prep that 2thetopp suggested, just be careful with the sanding. I wouldn't say rattle can it. Find somebody that can do some Airbrushing, that would be the only way to go with a helmet. If you have a college nearby check in and see if they have an art/design department and maybe post an add or talk to somebody in the department and have them suggest it to students as a project. You could probably find some pretty quality work for a great price. Students in that field are always looking for quick projects that they could add to there portfolio and make a couple bucks to boot.
Just my .02 but seems like it could be good for you and good for them.

I would make sure which ever paint you use does not harm the material the helmet is made out.
