I use WinAVI Video Converter
http://www.winavi.com/en/video-converter/video-converter.htm
I dont like to upload the .mov format to youtube, it always looks very grainy and low overall quality.
My steps are:
If I have multiple clips I want to put together as one video:
1. Use WinAVI to convert to .wmv format (windows media player)
2. Open up Windows Movie Maker, Its on your PC, just do a search for it.
3 Arrange, edit, move your clips around to how you want it.
4. Publish the movie to my PC in .wmv format.
5. Use WinAVI to convert to .avi (xvid) format and upload to youtube or just watch on your PC.
If I just have 1 video:
1. Use WinAVI to convert the .mov to .avi and I'm done.
It may seem like a lot of extra steps, but the only way to get all your clips in the correct order to edit them and have them all convert and combine to a single fluid file is to do it this way. Also, the codec's in a xvid are way better for video clarity @ 720p & 1080p than a cheesy .mov quicktime movie format.
You can convert and burn your files directly to a DVD with ConvertXtoDVD:

Its a very easy application to run, check it out.
