helmet cam ?????

i was thinking about getting a atc 2000 helmet camera and was wondering if anyone on here has used one. I was also wondering how they do in the powder....whether they fog up or not. any input would be appreciated

helmet cam

i have a hoyt tech helmet cam. it will fog up from time to time in the powder but if you keep the lens clean it does a pretty good job on not fogging up. mine is mounted under my visor on the helmet and this type needs a camcorder to capture the helmet cams view.

You pay for what you get, do your homework and have a good understanding of what your purchasing. How long do you want to tape, what resolution do you expect, Etc..Ck out some helmetcam footage at our site.

got a oregon scientific and it works very good..the lens plugged up all the time so i took a MAG light lens and siliconed it over the front and bingo,,works good...i'd post some video but am a dumb a$$ and havent figured it out yet....

I got a ACT for xmas and the first few times playing around it worked ok but now for some reason the sound is all muffled(anyone have any experience with that problem)...i called Oregon and they have the worst customer service i have ever dealt with....out of 5 calls i had to wait minimum 15 minutes just to get throught to a operator that takes a message for a call back and they havent called back yet...i sent an email and still no reply:(

hey wyoming.

what did the lense get plugged with? u wouldnt be able to show any pics of your camera with the new lense would you?

the lens is actually resessed about a 1/4 inch or so and as soon as the snow hits it it filled the hole up and didnt get any footage the first time so i fixed her,,it aint pretty but works real good..before you had to take helmet off and dig the snow out now it stays clear except in heavy snow so you just reach up and wipe it while riding..

wyoming,
so when u say MAG light, do u mean its just a lens off a flashlight? im going to the bighorns in a few weeks and want to take the camera along, and im sure theres going to be powder coming over the hoods and hitting the camera. so im thinking i should probably do what u did to your camera. did the lens affect the quality of the videos? let me know if you get any vids on youtube. thanks alot...been a big help so far!!
