Helmet Cam, anyone using one?

i have been looking at the Vholdr HD helmet cam, wondering if anyone has used one and if they hold up? Or what brand are you using and does it work good?
thanks for any info.

Helmet Cam

I have been running the new Vholdr HD cam. Great vids and love the size of it. They have a great online site with peoples videos and lots of info. Got mine from sled solutions.

they work pretty good, nice picture. my buddy has one and has put it through some gnarly crashes and it is as good as new, save some scratches. had to replace the mount once I think.

I have a viosport cam3 but you have to run it to a video camera in my backpack and I'm getting fed up of packing multiple cameras. I looked at a new POV 1 setup but it is big bucks. I saw a couple of Contour cameras by Vholdr that sound like what you are looking at. There was a 720p that was under $300 and and a 1080p for under $400and they were both HD. Would like some more feedback from people that have them.

the go pro hero cams are supposed to be comming out with a hi-def unit soon, might be worth checking out.

orange,
mine should arrive on thursday from amazon. let's compare notes on how we like them. in fact, post some riding footage as soon as you can. :)
will do. not sure when i will get mine, my first ride out west will be january 8-15, if i do any riding before hand i will take it for sure.
let me know how you like yours for sure!

I bought a POV 1 last year and really like it. The picture quality is really good IMO. The problem I've found with posting it on youtube for example is that the quality really goes down compared to if you just watch it on the TV or computer. Here's a link though to a video I took with it last season. At first there was a little moisture on the lens, but it goes away after a little bit into the vid. The quality really is a lot better than what this shows though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld9y7dUT_yE

I used to use the scull cam with the hardrive and really didnt have anytrouble with the eqpt. troubles I had was on deep pow days they were useless because it would build up in front of the lens. And the other thing was the footage was kinda boring after a while. Its good footage if you mix it with other but by itself was kinda slow moving. Some of this was to blame on the guys I was riding with never liked to peel around in front of me and always laid back. So you never got good perspective of other riders. Hope that helps.

Wife got me a Hero 5 MP Go Pro (not hd, I think they are out now). I really like it, works well just got chest mount to try. Haven't used sleddin' yet but works awesome quadin'!
