I am Doug from Crookston MN, been riding sleds for over 20 years. My family has been involved with sled for over 6 decades. My grandfather was the race director at Artic cat and all of him sons have raced for them at one point in time. Some of us have switched Brands but sleds are still the toy we choose
I have been racing Polaris since 1997 on an xc 440. Cross country is the terrain. Flat out rough, ditches, fields some trails. Not a fan of powder because I don't like to be stuck. Being i'm not getting younger, I am working on putting a turbo on an old race sled. I an not a fan of big heavy sleds and a good quick one will eat them for lunch every time. I am looking for all the information that I can find about the turbo side of the equation with all the other good improvements that can be made to make sledding faster, smoother, and safer.
I am a crew foreman for a local contractor. I have a wife with a five year old sledding monster. He was put on more miles than me in the last two years. We raise german shorthaired pointers, quarter horses and werthless cats. I had a 2010 Rush that I raced with terrible results. Good sled, not tough enough in the first production year. The turbo project is a 440 in an edge chassis. The install is complete but the tuning has just begun.
Looking forward to posting, replying and chating with you all,
