Hello Spokane/N. Idaho

I

INDEEP

Well-known member
Since I've started posting on the Spokane/N. Idaho section I thought I'd introduce myself. My fiancée and I just moved up from southern Oregon. I work for the railroad and she is a dental hygienist looking for work. We're not familiar with riding area so any help would be much appreciated. I would really like directions to the snow parks not your secret riding areas. :) Years ago we made trips to Priest Lake, Wallace, and Revy. Is there something a bit closer? I know people ride from the top of 4th of July pass. Also I've seen pics of Pac River but I'm not sure of it's location. I ride a 02 RMK mod sled and she rides a Phazer. We're both average riders that enjoy boondocking and finding new areas. Thanks for any help. Jason :beer;:beer;:beer;

Stop up in the Spokane Area Riders thread. 100 percent you will get someone who will not only give you directions but take you out and show you around.

Welcome.

Jason, I'm new to the area too, I live about 1 hour north of you. If you want to get together sometime this winter to go tinker just let me know. The only riding up here I've done has been from the Batey-Bould ORV trailhead, me and 2 buddies last year didn't know where to go (and I forgot a map) so we spent most of the day goofing off until we finally got back into some old clear cuts where we could have fun.

lookout pass

We used to live in Post falls ID and we usually rode lookout pass (Idaho/Montana border) or 4th of july pass. Lookout pass seemed to always have the early snow so our season always started there then moved to lower elevation (4th of july, mt. spokane ect.) I want to say lookout pass is like 1 1/2 hours from post falls. There's 2 snowparks for lookout one is at the ski-resort, you'll exit I-90 and hang a right and you'll run into the parking lot area. you want to park off the side of the road at the beginging of the parking lot. The other snowpark is past lookout about 5 miles into montana. You'll take the hogan exit and as you exit you'll see a state shed/gravel yard off to your right, thats where you'll park at. The trail is right behind the gravel pit (this trail ties in with the ski resort trail. We usually unload at hogan because you head up the mountian from there, plus the reststop restroom is just up the trail for the wife. I hope this helps you a little. I'm sure lookout will be our first ride this year (if not mccall), if we go you guys are more than welcome to ride with us and show you around that area. (FYI 4th of july is pretty fun to ride good trail for the wife and some hill climbing/boondocking for you).

BNSF but I guess it's Warren Buffets railroad after yesterday. ;) And not my fiancee but she ain't bad either.

I'm up in Kettle Falls but ride all over the west. Be glad to show you around the North options as well as some of the fun BC stuff if you can cross the border. Lots of good options around. Let me know.

BTW, has your wife had all her annual medical check ups......I'm running a newcomers special. lol. EW

I'm heading up there with the Rhino Saturday to look around if you'd like to come along. North Idaho ATV club is having a group ride from 4th of July down to Harrison on the 21st too. Trying to get more familiar with the area although when the snow hits everything will probably look completely different. I'm not much of an early riser either.:rolleyes:

Working all weekend Cheeto but thanks. And thanks for the replies I'll be in touch when the snow flies. And 2dabar the dream is over I'm not sponsored anymore. :mad:

Lookout looks damn good. I may have to go there this weekend and try out the new sled.

Up by me, there is also Kings Lake and 49*.
You're just up the road from me... how is the riding at King's Lake? Only went sledding up here once last year, parked at Batey Bould and rode up towards Calispell. Took a while to get to any good riding, but had fun once we got there.

Yeah, we should hook up and go riding sometime. We go out almost every weekend.

49* has a good play area, but all of the trails do not link up, so there is a lot of doubling back. Kings Lake is a blast. You have South and North Baldy to play on and you can even go to Priest lake from here. I can leave from my house and ride anywhere.

If not this weekend, I will be riding over Thanksgiving weekend for sure. I need to get the new sled setup.

Like X said if you hangout on the spokane thread much you will see us post about riding. Usually don't post until the day before. Don't be shy, if you want to go and someone posts it, let us know. Most all of us are up for newbies.

The trouble is that its just so damn hard to keep up with that thread.
Cory, my sled's not ready for this weekend or next but I will try to get in touch with you this winter for sure.

Anyhoo...when I'm up in Feb I gotta start putting some names to faces and meet up with you guys to ride someplace.:beer;:beer;
