Helixes for 200+ HP 1100 turbos?

Hi.

Would really like some input on what helixes (and maybe springs?) are working good with 1100 Turbos that are pushed beyond 200 HP.

I have Dalton 5Ws and MDS Turbo weights available, but my secondary is stock except for Hi-Torque rollers.

Sled/info:
M1100 Turbo 162" Snopro with Sandale 2.5" DV outlet and muffler + BD Hi-Jacker 2.0, pump gas, 0-3000 ft.

The mds weights work pretty good. A lot of guys are using the reverse cut ('turbo') helix with good results. A 36/42 may be a good place to start. I got mine from BDX, they had to custom machine it cuz I'm running the big chute turbo kit at 280hp and am running more helix.

We run 38/46 and Cutler 85-95 turbo weights for around 225-230hp which works good where we ride from 6-8000'. Helix starts the transition about the time the turbo starts to get going. Picks up speed in a short distance. Guys sticking closer to 200-210hp we have used a 36/44 and Cutler 75-85 weights with good results too at the same elevation.

The nice thing about these sleds, with a good tune they make very consistent power over a very wide rpm. My big chute turbo makes over 270hp from 7600 to 8400 rpm. Not like a 2 - stroke where you have peak HP over a 100-200 rpm span. Even our 215hp ecu reflash makes over 210hp over about a 800 rpm span. It's called clutching for dummies. The stock 1100t is not quite that wide of a span, but still pretty easy to clutch.

Sled/info:
ProClimb 1100 Turbo High Country with Sandale 2.5" DV outlet and muffler + BD Ez-Jacker 1.9, pump gas, 0-3000 ft. Dalton 5Ws, 140-310 primary spring.

At first I used the stock helix and had trouble with slipping in the secondary(big heat difference between clutches) when hillclimbing and sidehilling. Also hitting the rev limiter a lot. BDX hooked me up with a 48-44p helix which cured both the slipping and rev limiter problem. Now I have even heat on the clutches and I hit 7950 when accelerating and it stays there. Max peak of 8180 on the tach.

Very happy with the current setup!

I like hearing all this info. I think there will be a number of big hp options out there next year. That being said I hope mine to be one of the sleds with true big hp. I am hoping that the MDS weights that I have will work with the addition of a new helix. Stock with just a highflow can the MDS weights are putting down some amazing track speed. Can't wait to have another 60-70 hp.
