Helix looks cut incorrect on this 45 SW

Got a 45 helix from Speedwerx. Looks like the cut is off center left from the bolt holes, and also looks like the cut is steeper than the 48 stocker. Reverse notch isn't as big either. Pic is the stock Team 48 on top, then 45 SW, then Team 43 on bottom. Bolt holes are all aligned together. This is the first one they cut. Have a call into them, but want to get other opinions on it. Looks off to me.

definitely looks odd, I run supreme tools helix they are 50$ cheaper if you wind up sending that back. Ran 2 different ones with no issues

I got off the phone with SW. They said they have field tested these with no issues and that the cut is the correct angle. And I don't have to worry about the reverse notch being smaller. It's possible the angle on the team could be off. But they said their engineers should have this setup correct. Was told to run it and try it as is, and if I have any issues with it I can send it back. Might try to snag another clutch off my shops demo and test it back to back on the mountain with this one to see the differences.

Im also getting a 45 Dalton from Racinstation and gonna compare it as well

I have a new dalton 45 degree for my 18. If I get time I will take a picture of it next to the stock 48. In my opinion the bushing in the dalton helix is by far superior to the bushing in the stock helix or other aftermarket helixs.

Reverse notch are shorter but if the roller dont get out, no issue here. The spring cap with rollers are ''float'' so the ''offset'' above Team or OEM helix dont change anything.

Bushing on my STM helix are way more better than stock helix.

Personnally, i prefer the 43 helix with softer and bit more lbs/in rate spring, amazing backshift/upshift at any mph/throttle input

I tried the 43 helix already. The backshift was awesome. But I felt I could use more upshift. I'm hoping the 45 kinda gives me both. I've also been thinking of trying out a full progressive helix. Say a 52/44.

What springs have you tried Marble? I'm pondering a 190/260 secondary spring. But I want to wait on that and do one thing at a time. Same thing with weights.

Here is a dalton 45° helix on top of the factory 48° helix. Appears the dalton helix has a slight rotation compared to stock.

I thought you where just talking about the offset so I went back and looked at your pictures again. The angle on that speedwerx helix doesn't look right at all for a 45°. I bet it shifts different than the dalton 45°, possibly worse than the stock 48°. Unless the pictures are deceiving it looks steeper than the stock 48° to me as well.

CO 2.0. For your altitude, i would try something like a 160/250 or 160/270 with your 43 helix.

You're gonna have to get a protractor out and start measuring. Something "looks" off, but I can't tell what or where. Camera angle, lighting, shadows. I'm not saying you're wrong, but its a hell of a lot easier to see whats different when you are the one holding all the pieces.

I would send that picture to speedwerx, that's just not right at all!! That will definitely screw with dialing in your clutches. Or just return it and only buy dalton.

I already put an angle finder on them, and measured all 4. But when I talked to speedwerx on the phone they told me not to go off of that type of measurement. But the angle finder did show the SW 45 the most steep of all. By 3deg over the 48.

180 / 270 secondary spring with 43 helix has good backshift but upshift is lacking

Im going to try 160 /260 or 180 / 270 spring with the 48 helix (stock is 180 /240)

Running MDS with 122 / 285 primary

second sled running Cat 66gr with 122/285 spring(Mds has more track speed and aggressive midrange)

also using bmp or slp anti bind plastic washers in secondary

Are you using 43 helix from STM? I don't see that cut on their site, looks like most are progressive. I do like their design of the replaceable bushing.

43 helix with 140/230 work great for me, amazing upshift and strong backshift. Probably than I will try 125/215 soon. I think that your issue it's because your run a too stiff secondary spring with shallower helix.
