helicopter rescue?

sucks bigtime

going back sunday to turn the skis around and hopefully strap it to another sled and tow it out backwards

if you need that helicpter, let me know. I work for a helicopter company right out of Bountiful and we would be happy to sling it back to your trailer for you. Make sure you request for Chad (me) to be the one that prepares the net and such for you so I can go ride and paid for it. :D

its up monte how much do you think it would cost just in case?

Rough:face-icon-small-sho Insured?

yes it is insured

I feel for you, that don't look good.Is it in a place that you can tow it out?
Looks like it was a nice sled...:sorry:

its going to be tough

it is bent so bad the track is way loose and wont roll so backwards is the next step sunday morning

I've heard that insurance will pay to get a new sled out via helicopter rather than write it off as they are so expensive now aday.

OUCH!!

Rode with Dan and few others today. Had about 10 miles of fun, and the rest of the day was spent dragging a dead soldier outta the hills (thankfully not mine this time).

I was turning around up on a hill on a somewhat flat spot.I was standing on right side when the ski diped in and I lost my balance into my throttle and it stuck and took off without me as I fell off backwards I got up intime to watch it going down the hill at about 30mph and SMACK. The impact was so solid the top of the tree broke off about 30 ft hi

Well, we were playing on a (small) hill, and about 3/4 of the way up the hill the engine on Sky's cat started sounding weird. So, he turned out, shut the engine off and coasted down to the bottom of the hill. Pulled the plugs and saw what looked to be some metal shavings. Looked inside the Y-pipe and saw the same. It was uphill to try to get it out, so we tried to fire it up to see if we could at least get it to the trail, and it sounded pretty bad, so that wasn't an option. Basically where we were at, it was an uphill start to try to tow it out, and after 3 or 4 attempts to get it going up the hill we had to manhandle it about 50-75ft to the top of the first hill (felt like a mile). At that point, it was on to the bigger hill. So, we hooked up a tow strap and after about 7 or 8 attempts and a busted strap we got it up the hill and back onto the trail. Ended up going through 2 more straps getting it out, but the important part was WE GOT IT OUT!

just a bad week

Geesh, that does suck.:face-icon-small-sad

If you salvage it and part it out, I need a ski.:face-icon-small-win

Good luck on the rescue.

Take a plastic sled with you and some ratchet straps to attach it good and tight. Make sure you keep it as tight as possible to your tow sled. Bumper to bumper, and about 18" max on each ski tip to the tow bumper. A thick piece of rubber or some carpet etc to lash between the bumpers will help with any damage to both sleds while in tow.

Turning the ski's with the track strapped onto the tunnel is a good plan also. You shouldn't have a problem between those two options. If you don't have any luck I will get it to the parking lot for half the price of a helicopter! :thumb:
