Just saw the thread on Rudes build with the heat wrap on the pipe to keep the heat under the hood down. (Nice wrap job by the way.)
I was thinking of doing the same thing. But, I did hear that generally it decreases horse power and it holds the moisture on the pipe rusting it to nothing in no time.
Is this true?? Anyone tried it in the past? I did heat wrap the pipe under the pull start last year to keep it from melting the insides of that. Got tired of replacing it and it worked great for that purpose. Have not checked the rust situation. Of course taking out the head light and getting some RAM air helped too.
