Heat Exchanger??

I have a 12 1100 turbo and am needing to replace the heat exchanger. Original got bent. Was looking and the one for the 14's are about $100 or so cheaper then the ones for the 12's. They are a different part number just wondering what the differences are. And will the 14 one work in my 12. Have asked a few dealers and no one knows.

Stick with the 12 it is bigger . The shorter one doesn't cool as much.

This is true, however, the 13 and 14 one doesn't build up so much ice either. I'm running the 13 style on my 12, and although I need to watch the coolant temps more, it works just fine.

you'll need to cover the holes in your tunnel if you go with the short one, but that was easy compared to replacing it...

Did the same as izzni with my 12. Rode the piss outta of it in warm spring temps in MI with cable scratchers installed never had a problem. When you come to an idle just let the sled sit there and idle for several minutes to let the system regulate heat or else you'll burn out your coolant tank quickly.

Thanks for the info. What are you using for a temp gauge. Just the regular sno pro gauge or a seperate gauge. I ordered the exchanger for the 14 so hope I dont regret that. Has the big chute and everyother evo part and belt drive. Not sure if the big chute wll make more heat thanthe stock turbo. Also did you just cover the holes with aluminium (sp) and rivet it on.

I have the deluxe gauge, and I reflashed it to show engine temp in more places than just the trip odometer area.

I riveted an aluminum sheet under the tunnel to cover the slots that are in the rear or the tunnel.
