headphones to fit in helmet

Has anyone found a good brand of ear phones that fit inside the padding on your helmet instead of earbuds because they hurt your ear so bad after while. Just curiuos I would like to try something different this year. Thanks

I have been building speakers inside my helmets for years now. Every helmet is a little different. Basically I use a set of the old style over the ear headphones (not the really big ones) and take just the speaker out the headphones. Then install it inside the ear pocket behind the fabric. Drill a hole in the helmet and put a stereo plug in. Then use a male to male cord to the MP3. I am popular enough that all my buddies and their wifes helmets have speakers in them.

I buy helmet speakers on eBay, flat and covered in fabric. They're anywhere from $20 to $100, but the problem is they all have cheap wiring. Wrap the connectors in elec tape or the flexing will pull the wires out in one day. Then they work decent and are cheap enough I keep a spare.

One thing you need to realize you usually hear an avalanche first. Are ya going to be able to hear it with ear phones in?

If I can't hear an Avi over the motor not to worried if I can hear it over tunes.
