Ok, here's the chain of events

1.Started the day with low beams working fine (didn't test highs, but I assume they were fine.

2. 2 hrs into ride I noticed low beams were out, tried highs and they worked fine.

3. By mid day both would not work and the blue high beam indicator stays lit all the time regardless of switching back and forth using the button on bars.

Any ideas? I'm stumped. Both bulbs are fine and I don't see any apparent issues in wiring

Hey! I just put 2 and 2 together and realised who this is! sorry to hear you are having issues. check the voltage regulator first-although the high beam indicator makes me suspect a pinched or grounded wire in the hood/light harness-check around the hood hinge area for wiring issues.
Give me a call if you don't get anywhere!

May be something grounding out. I had a grip heater stop working... 3 hrs and 50 miles later my headlights and mfd shut off. I unplugged the grip heater and the lights and mfd came back on. Rellaced the heater and problem was fixed. Start unplugging accessories and check wiring for chaffing, make sure all the grounds are good!!

I had the same problem and found it in the wiring harness that is by the pipe going up to the hood. there are two of them there. pull them apart and look for the prong's there will be one or two of them that are pushed in two far pull them back out and you should be fine. hope this helps ya . as that is what I found and mine did the same thing.

I have seen the hi-low beam switch on these short out on quite a few sleds. You can pull the left hand control unit off (four torx screws) and look to see if it's fried.

On a couple of these I yanked the shorted switch out and soldered two of the terminals together.

If you solder the left and center terminals together you will have low beam all the time (no high beam).

If you solder the left and right terminals together you will have high beam all the time with no low beam.
